HANetf and Aura ETFs launched the Weekly World Income UCITS ETF (ticker: WEEK) on 16 September 2026, listing the fund on the London Stock Exchange and on Deutsche Börse’s Xetra. According to the issuer, WEEK is the first ETF in Europe to distribute income on a weekly basis. The fund invests across global equity markets and uses an actively managed covered call overlay, aiming to generate additional income alongside the potential for capital growth.

Fund structure and listing details

The Weekly World Income UCITS ETF carries the ISIN IE000I50V6C7 and a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.50%. It is listed under three separate lines across two exchanges:

Investment strategy

The fund invests in global equity markets, with the stated aim of providing diversified exposure across regions, sectors and long-term growth themes. According to HANetf, these themes may include artificial-intelligence-related capital expenditure in North America, technology hardware manufacturers in Asia, and structural shifts under way across Europe and other Western markets in areas such as energy security, industrials and defence.

Alongside this equity exposure, WEEK uses an actively managed covered call overlay, combining covered calls and call spreads. HANetf states that this approach may allow investors to target higher yields than global equity ETFs that rely solely on dividend income. Income is distributed to investors weekly, a frequency HANetf says is more common in monthly or quarterly form among comparable funds.

Market context for options-based ETFs

HANetf cites Nasdaq data from 2026 showing that around 1,100 new ETFs listed in the United States in 2025, of which approximately 25% use options as a core component of their strategy. The issuer states that the share of options-based launches within total annual US ETF launches has been rising since 2018, particularly for equity ETFs, bringing the total universe of US options ETFs to more than 800 distinct funds, representing over $250 billion in assets under management, according to Nasdaq.

In Europe, HANetf cites ETFBook data as of 24 August 2026 showing that options-based ETFs have reached more than $11 billion in assets under management, with net inflows of $806 million in August alone.

HANetf also references estimates from Finfluencer Analytics indicating flows of approximately €2 billion into these products from German retail platforms in the year to 31 May, with an average allocation of €7,587 per investor. According to the same source, German retail investors hold 18% of their total ETF assets and 51% of their ETF-specific assets in global equity ETFs.

Statements from Aura ETFs and HANetf

A spokesperson for Aura ETFs commented on the launch of the Weekly ETFs range: “Investors have increasingly expressed interest in global income strategies, with covered call strategies surging in portfolio popularity as investors seek income and volatility mitigation. WEEK provides European investors looking for additional potential yield with access to global equities while seeking to generate weekly distributions for the first time ever in a European ETF.”

McNeil Hector HANetfHector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the Weekly World Equity Income UCITS ETF (ticker: WEEK). At HANetf, we continually seek to bring distinctive investment solutions to the European market, and Europe’s first ETF aiming to make weekly distributions is a further example of that commitment.

“WEEK combines diversified exposure to global equity markets with an actively managed covered call overlay designed to generate additional income. We have seen clear demand in Europe for more frequent distributions, which may give investors greater flexibility over how and when they use their investment income. We are excited to bring this innovative proposition to market.”
