Amundi Core MSCI World UCITS ETF 2 Acc: investment objective

Amundi states that the fund aims to replicate the performance of the MSCI World Index as closely as possible, whether the market is rising or falling. It also seeks to keep tracking error between the sub-fund’s net asset value and the index’s performance to a minimum. The expected level of tracking error under normal market conditions is detailed in the sub-fund’s prospectus.

According to Amundi’s factsheet for its existing MSCI World product, the MSCI World Index measures the performance of large- and mid-cap companies across 23 developed markets.

Comparison with Amundi’s existing MSCI World ETF

Amundi already offers the Amundi Core MSCI World UCITS ETF Acc (ISIN IE000BI8OT95), which launched on 18 January 2024. That fund is already listed on the London Stock Exchange, where it trades under the tickers MWRU (US dollars) and MWRL (sterling), according to data from AJ Bell and InvestEngine.

The new “2” vehicle follows the same benchmark but carries a TER of 0.06%, half the level reported for the existing fund.

Amundi US TIPS Ultrashort UCITS ETF Acc: investment objective

According to Amundi, the fund aims to replicate the performance of the Bloomberg US TIPS Ultrashort Laddered Index as closely as possible, regardless of whether the trend is upward or downward. It also seeks to minimise tracking error between the sub-fund’s net asset value and the index’s performance. As with the equity ETF, the anticipated tracking error is set out in the prospectus.

What US TIPS are and why maturity matters

Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) are bonds issued by the US Treasury. Their principal is adjusted in line with the US Consumer Price Index, meaning coupon payments and the amount repaid at maturity increase with inflation.

TIPS nevertheless carry interest-rate risk, and longer maturities carry more of it. Bloomberg research notes that its broad US TIPS index fell 11.8% in 2022, a decline similar to the 12.5% fall in the US Treasury index, while US consumer price inflation reached 6.5% year on year. Shorter-dated TIPS have lower duration and are therefore less sensitive to changes in real yields.

The index tracked by the Amundi ETF concentrates on the ultra-short segment of the TIPS market and uses a laddered structure, spreading holdings across successive maturities. Bloomberg’s index methodology document for this specific benchmark was not publicly available at the time of writing.

Other ultra-short TIPS strategies

Bloomberg already calculates a related benchmark, the Bloomberg US Ultrashort TIPS 1-13 Months Index, which covers TIPS with maturities between one month and 13 months. In the United States, F/m Investments uses that index for its F/m Ultrashort Treasury Inflation-Protected Security (TIPS) ETF (RBIL), launched in February 2025. The Amundi product tracks a different Bloomberg index, the US TIPS Ultrashort Laddered Index.

In the UCITS market, investors seeking US inflation-linked bond exposure can already choose from broad-maturity and 0-5 year TIPS ETFs offered by several issuers, including Amundi’s own US TIPS Government Inflation-Linked Bond UCITS ETF.

What the listings mean for UK investors

For investors on the London Stock Exchange, the two ETFs add:

another MSCI World tracker at a TER of 0.06%, among the lower cost levels reported for UCITS ETFs tracking this index;

an ultra-short US inflation-linked bond exposure, aimed at investors seeking protection against US inflation with limited sensitivity to interest-rate movements.

Both funds accumulate income. Investors should check trading currencies, tickers and UK reporting fund status with their platform before dealing.

Conclusion

Amundi has begun trading two accumulating ETFs on the London Stock Exchange on 15 October 2026. The Amundi Core MSCI World UCITS ETF 2 Acc provides exposure to developed-market equities at a TER of 0.06%. The Amundi US TIPS Ultrashort UCITS ETF Acc provides exposure to ultra-short US inflation-linked Treasuries at a TER of 0.10%.
