ETFGI reports global ETFs industry gathered US$78.58 billion of net inflows during November 2022

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm covering trends in the global ETFs/ETPs ecosystem, reported today that the global ETFs industry gathered US$78.58 billion of net inflows during November, bringing year-to-date net inflows to US$786.92 billion. During November 2022, assets invested globally in the ETF/ETP industry increased by 6.9%, from US$8.87 trillion at the end of October to US$9.48 trillion, according to ETFGI’s preliminary November 2022 global ETFs and ETPs industry landscape insights report. Assets decreased 7.6% YTD in 2022, going from $10.26 Tn at end of 2021 to $9.48 Tn.
Net inflows of $78.58 Bn during November.
YTD net inflows of $786.93 Bn are the second highest on record, after $1.14 Tn YTD net inflows in 2021.

“The S&P 500 increased by 5.59 % in November but is down 13.10% YTD in 2022. Developed markets excluding the US increased by 10.63% in November but are down 15.67% YTD in 2022. Hong Kong (up 24.17%) and Netherlands (up 17.45%) saw the largest increases amongst the developed markets in November. Emerging markets increased by 13.26% during November but are down 16.86% YTD in 2022. China (up 27.38%) and Turkey (up 24.58%) saw the largest increases amongst emerging markets in November.” According to Deborah Fuhr, managing partner, founder and owner of ETFGI.
Global ETF and ETP assets as of the end of November 2022

The Global ETFs industry had 11,072 products, with 22,906 listings, assets of US$9.48 Tn, from 668 providers listed on 81 exchanges in 63 countries at the end of November.
During November, Global ETFs industry gathered net inflows of $78.58 Bn. Equity ETFs/ETPs reported net inflows of $33.99 Bn during November, bringing YTD net inflows to $444.05 Bn, lower than the $789.29 Bn in net inflows equity products had attracted at this point in 2021. Fixed income ETFs/ETPs gathered net inflows of $35.51 Bn during November, bringing YTD net inflows to $218.36 Bn, higher than the $209.99 Bn in net inflows fixed income products had attracted by the end of November 2021. Commodities ETFs/ETPs reported net outflows of $1.53 Bn during November, bringing YTD net outflows to $14.63 Bn, larger net outflows than the $9.91 Bn in net outflows commodities products had reported year to date in 2021. Active ETFs/ETPs gathered net inflows of $9.74 Bn during the month, bringing YTD net inflows to $106.60 Bn, lower than the $126.52 Bn in net inflows active products had reported YTD in 2021.
Substantial inflows can be attributed to the top 20 ETFs by net new assets, which collectively gathered $34.42 Bn during November. Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ US) gathered $4.05 Bn, the largest individual net inflow.
