The ETF is designed to track the performance of the Mirae Asset AI Semiconductor & Quantum Index. Its objective is to invest in companies that are positioned to benefit from the advancement of artificial intelligence semiconductors and quantum computing technologies.
The fund’s strategy focuses on what it defines as ‘pure-play’ companies. These are firms that generate at least 50% of their revenue from specific business areas. These areas include the design and manufacturing of AI semiconductors, the development of AI-focused compute systems, data centre infrastructure and equipment, and the commercialisation of quantum computing technologies.
This approach offers investors focused exposure to companies involved in what Global X describes as a structural shift in computing. The firm points to increased demand for data processing and next-generation semiconductors driven by artificial intelligence.
A PwC report, the Global Semiconductor Industry Outlook 2026, is cited as evidence of this growth. The report states the global semiconductor market is set to expand from $627 billion in 2024 to over $1 trillion by 2030.
The CHPX ETF provides UCITS-compliant access to this theme across key global markets, targeting both established industry leaders and emerging innovators.
