The Fund, which is passively managed, aims to achieve investment results that correspond as closely as possible, gross of fees and expenses, to the performance of the MSCI World Private Equity Return Tracker Index.
The Sub-Fund’s investment policy is to replicate the performance of the Index as closely as possible, regardless of whether the Index rises or falls, while seeking to minimise, with the utmost prudence, the tracking error between the performance of the Sub-Fund and that of the Index.
The Index aims to approximate the returns of private equity investments by replicating exposures to regions, sectors and styles through publicly traded equities. In seeking to replicate the Index, the Investment Manager believes that the Sub-Fund offers greater potential for liquidity, transparency and accessibility than traditional private equity instruments.
The Sub-Fund does not invest in private equity or private equity vehicles or funds.
The Index consists of long and short positions in publicly traded equities and uses components of the MSCI World IMI Index (the ‘Main Index’) as its universe of eligible securities.
The Sub-Fund will seek to achieve the return of the Index (by replicating the components of the Index in proportion to their weightings in the Index) through a combination of physically held securities that are components of the Index and/or by entering into one or more unfunded total return swap agreements with one or more approved counterparties in order to gain exposure to the components of the Index.
In addition, the Sub-Fund’s investments may include cash and cash equivalents, including money market funds and US government securities.
The Sub-Fund may invest up to 10% of its Net Asset Value in shares of other regulated open-ended collective investment schemes, including money market funds and ETFs.
